Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This position will be responsible for overseeing accounting functions, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, compliance, and month-end/year-end closing processes. The Senior Accountant will work closely with department heads and senior management to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting operational efficiency and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the healthcare business, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and healthcare regulations.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity by reviewing, correcting, and reconciling accounting entries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights to management, assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting auditors with questions and requests.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, particularly in healthcare-related accounting and reporting standards (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance reimbursements).
  • Monitor and support the maintenance of financial systems and databases, ensuring the accuracy and security of financial information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient accounting processes and timely reporting.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accountant role.
  • Experience in healthcare accounting or a related industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior staff members.
